RDSP Savings Calculator

This calculator is designed to make it easier to understand how money in an RDSP can grow over time. The estimates are based on the premise that the plan is being opened this year.

Analysis

The calculator estimates the potential amount of grant money the beneficiary could receive based on the beneficiary's family income and the amounts you or someone else contribute to the RDSP. It also computes the potential amount of bond money the beneficiary could receive (no contributions to the RDSP are required to receive bonds), based on their age and family income. And finally, it calculates the amount of interest that could be earned on these monies.

The calculator's results are rough estimates for information purposes only - not financial planning. The actual value of an RDSP could be higher or lower, depending on the performance of the investments and the frequency /amount of the contributions. Also, there is a carry-forward provision that is not accounted for in this calculator. Please consult your financial advisor for financial advice relating to the RDSP.

The calculator does not collect personal information or identifiers.

The beneficiary of the RDSP is a person with a severe and prolonged disability who is eligible for the disability tax credit, as required.

All provinces and territories fully or partially exempt Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP) assets and income. Contact your provincial or territorial government to make sure you get the most up-to-date details. If you are interested in finding out about opening an RDSP, please contact your preferred financial institution from this list.
